popped the berries...
I'd had to satiate myself all morning with lamb/beef pitas, loaded with lovely hummus, while slaving over a delicious smelling pot of sugar and cranberries popping softly in the syrupy sugar while adding just a bit more sugar.
Dinner at 4 o'clock? That's the tradition I guess. We always have an astonishingly early dinner, and spend the rest of the day watching movies and eating the recent leftovers. My culinary donations increased quite a bit this year as well. Marinated mushrooms in an orange sauce, whole berry cranberry sauce, mashed rose potatoes- all from scratch of course. And hopefully toffee if I can find the candy thermometer and convince my mother to let me.
Food from scratch is one thing my family does well on thanksgiving. Even the enchiladas. Yes, those are our tradition too. -- G 'Bye, Sonya -- . ( 27.11.03 ) .
