A Food Network Kind of day
A few things that I have done, decided, and desired during my food network-a-thon:
♠ Someday I want to try Kir Royale(Creme de Cassis liqueur and Champagne).
♠ I wasn't sure if the chicken from a can is precooked, so I sauted it with lemon grass, italian seasoning, lemon juice, and crushed garlic. Then put it in a pita.
♠ I burnt the first pita, so I ate the unburnt part with some hummus.
♠ Then I made a dip for my chicken pita. I basically took two parts sour cream and one part feta cheese, then smashed it together with a fork. Then added sesame seeds and vanilla.
♠ This dip would be wonderful for Angel food cake. But next time I make it for a pita I will not use vanilla.
♠ Rosemary-infused butter on popcorn sounds like a lot of work for a movie night. but it also sounds good.
♠ I want to have a potluck where everyone makes a course. And I mean actually makes something, preferably something interesting and not just generic american. Then we eat it buffet style.
♠ The best order for a many-course meal, regardless of convention, is: soup, sidedish, main meat, salad, hors d'oeuvres, dessert. And don't any of you dare disagree.
♠ When I "grow up" I would gladly clean the house if someone else will clean the kitchen.
