Toothless, or a few tooths less
I actually managed to stay away from the computer for almost four whole days. Somehow I was otherwise occupied. A sidelong glance at the computer would just remind me that there were clothes to be hung and a book to read.(I finally finished re-reading LOTR, by-the-by). But of course I couldn't stay away forever, so here I am.
It's been a busy couple of days. We have a new car, I've lost some teeth, I've got my motorcycle permit, and I went to the big swim meet against the High School rival.
I think we lost.
I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday. Local anesthetics don't seem to work for me so I opted for the general. I'd never "gone under" before so I thought it might be interesting. Unfortunately no one thought to tell me that it was through an IV. The only time someone had ever tried taking blood from the inside of my elbow before, they broke two of my veins before switching to a butterfly(really super small) needle and searching for another vein. I looked like a Heroin addict and I was incredibly terrified.
Needless to say, when I saw a ginormous needle next to the armrest, an armrest that had straps for holding arms down, I freaked. I'm pretty good at looking calm but I wonder if my "Just breathe, just breathe" while staring in shock at the needle worked while they took my blood pressure.
Luckily the Oral Surgeon guy was pretty awesome. He only stuck me once and the needle I was looking at was not the one they used. They used an itsy-bitsy one that wasn't any worse than being stuck in the shoulder which I totally don't mind at all. I woke up with a mouthful of cotton and scared the nurse-lady by having a lot of fun walking in a wobbly half-drugged way before my legs decided to start working properly.
What I don't understand is why I can't use a straw. Everyone says "Just don't drink through a straw!" Why??
Friday I got my motorcycle permit. Considering it was a DMV picture, it looked awful good. I even got a perfect score on the driving written test [The second time around]. To get an M2 license you have to take both the regular driving written test and the Motorcycle test. It doesn't seem quite fair to me, but I bowed to our nasty bureaucracy anyway. This means that I have to sign up for the CHP training course now since I am under 21. But no worries, its apparently easier than going the over-21 route anyway.
I think we lost the swim meet. Girls Varsity may have won, but overall I think we just weren't up to par. Also, Carls Jr. has excellent Fish & Chips. They even give you malt vinegar! That, my dears, is a sign of excellent F&C.
And much to my mother's disapointment, we got a Honda Odyssey. She thinks that they are just about the ugliest cars ever, and we really wanted a van with roll-down windows in back like Miz Fansaka has. But alas, it was not to be. The Honda guy gave us an amazing deal, and I was really really depressed by the whole experience. Dudes, I actually cried because I felt so sorry for the whole car industry. The lots are desolate and unpopulated, the salesmen have to work long hours because the whole industry is in such a horrid slump. Not even a slump. Its been terrible for years.
There are certian places I just can't go because they make me sad. First and foremost, the animal shelters. Then I had to be very careful around museums. Now I'll add car lots.
