Day Number... Whatever.
Well the internet is still not all appropriately hookified up in my room, but I can at least use it a little when my dad isn't fooling around with the other comps. We have four now, by the way.
The total of my packing boxes was 45ish. Did I mention that already? I shall post pictures soon of the mess that ensued when the nouveau chambre was loaded up. 'Twas comical indeed.
To-day I attened the Episcopalian Church. St. Andrew's to be exact. I had wanted to try the Catholic Church, but my dad had already started at St. Andrew's and there was no way around that. His mother had always said that "If there's no Orthodox church around, go to the Episcopalians."
It was a curious experiance for me. Mostly sitting down, and lots of kneeling. THere was one lone child helping at the altar, and it was a girl(I think, boys do have rather long hair hereabouts). No Foreign tongues, no incense, and no chanting choir. The songs were sung en masse and without warning.
That's not to mean I didn't enjoy it. It was very different to say the least, and over, it seemed, as soon as it began. A lovely stone church with a peaked roof and tall stained-glass windows is St. Andrew's. Father... or Reverend I think... John is personable and kind. There is a amicable red-haired gentleman that sits near every door I went through as well.
We couldn't take communion, and after seeing it, I was glad I didn't.
"They all drink out of the same cup! A communal cup!"
"So? We all use the same spoon."
"They wipe the spoon between people, at least that's something."
"No they don't!"
"Oh yes they do, and besides- you can't backwash into a spoon."

All-in-all I enjoyed it despite the lack of little ethnic trailmix and feta at the post-service social. They had nice people and lovely little cheese squares with triscuts. But maybe we can go to the 8 o'clock service, since is it sans songs. I'm not a fan of most in-church hymns. OH, and their Nicene creed is different! I didn't know you were allowed to re-write the creed...
Then it was more room cleaning, I fixed my bookcase which the back had come mostly off of, used maybe too many nails, cracked it in a few not-load-bearing places, and watched the cartoon version of Robin Hood with the foxes. That is one of my favourite Disney Movies ever.
